From the matches I've seen myself throughout the years, and the ones you sent me Rick, he was routinely outplaying his opponents after todays standards, and getting PRs at the very low end of the scale (prebot).

My BG history knowledge is a lot limited when we're talking about anything pre-88... So I'm not too sure exactly when the different big names were at the very top of their game, when they were highly competitive and when they were just "getting there"....
