When playing an inferior opponent, double a little bit later and pass a little bit more in gammonish positions

Disagree with the part in bold.

The opposite of this advice is that you should never drop a (too late) double instantly with an expression of ease on your face.

Sometimes there's nothing I like more than letting my opponent know he played like a donkey. Immediate pass combined with 'I wondered if you were ever going to double' may rattle some opponents and have them thinking about it through the rest of the match.
