Maybe this sentence was what threw me off:

But now I understand that you are doubling early against weaker opponents, because you feel that they would drop anyway!

And the above cited remark then is sort of an insurance: Should they still take, it is not as expensive anyway, since they will play the position badly. Concluding that you might as well go for the even earlier double/drop mistake, since it's a freebie?

Would that be correctly understood?
