I think the correct answer here is "don't play when you're trashed" but it appears both players are trashed here, so I'll try to make the best of it.

I'd just run the backman with 23/17. I forget who's rule it is that says "just pick up your straggler and move it forward as far as you can", but I think it applies here. Since this play duplicates 7s I'll be surprised if something else is correct.
