Playing 13/9 6/5 with an opening 41 is sometimes right, and rarely (if ever) very wrong. I'm thinking it must be OK to play it here, because if Stick hits on our 5-point he doesn't start an advanced anchor at the same time since he only has one checker back. If hit after an opening 13/9 6/5, the opponent is also threatening to anchor on the golden, hence there is less risk playing 13/9 6/5 here. Is this accurate analysis? Anyway 13/9 6/5 is my play.
