A bit terse, your explanation, methinks. :-)

Anyway, I take as well, but in almost any practical situation it would be a cube because some would drop.

Static elements of the position in White's favor to note are: (1) Blue is still behind in the pip count; (2) Blue has only 7 checkers in the zone; (3) White has made her 5pt and has a generally solid position except for her blot and two checkers on the bar; (4) Blue still has a bunch of checkers back. Of course (2) and (4) are related to (1).

Dynamically, it helps to try to visualize how the game will unfold. White will generally enter easily from the bar even if the third checker is hit. Blue doesn't have the ammunition to keep attacking for very long. If he hits loose and is hit back, White's forward position is strong enough to give him some trouble. Chances are pretty good that this will turn into a roughly equal mutual holding game.

It still looks like a double to me because (1) if Blue hits the third checker and White dances then I think he loses his market; (2) Blue should retain an advantage in the great majority of exchanges. However, owning the cube in a mutual holding game is quite valuable, so I don't think the double is that strong.
