Woods' putt on 18 was longer than Molinari's.

Woods' putt was no gimme. Molinari's putt was perhaps not a gimme but it was shorter.

Under the circumstances there's a hell of a difference between a 5-footer and a 4-footer and a 3-footer.

I also disagree that Poulter should be faulted for wanting his opponent to put what you refer to as a gimme. Sometimes a 2-footer can be difficult if it has sufficient break.
