What do you want to say with your reply? Btw it's the work of an american neuroscientist. And the amygdala is also for memory modulation. You don't play backgammon only with the cerebrum. There are afferents from the cerebrum with preprocessed information for the amygdala. Not every decision in backgammon or in real life is a consciuos decision of the cerebrum. You don't play with emotion? You don't make an evaluation of the emotions of your participant?
