In Response To: Defend your cube action - elo diff. (Stick)

At Croatian Backgammon Tour there are many players who play PR 12+ so I have lots of experience playing against much weaker opponents.
I don't claim I am an expert in adjusting, but when I look at cube actions vs such opponents I do use Fish METs regularly: Jac 100 (available in GNU) and also 200 ELO difference MET (created by a friend of mine).

Few things I've noticed (which are probably obvious to some):
1) be careful with the cube in gammonish positions (that means passing even some monster takes if position is highly gammonish)
2) avoid high cubes
3) avoid doubling if there is a possibility of fast recube by your fish opponent
4) be careful with doubling when leading by much

Here is my take on your positions:

Position 1 -
This is a kind of position where I don't always agree with the Fish MET and I'm very interested to hear your take on it. If there was a 400 ELO diff MET I am sure it would show No Double here. But, in this position there is lots of play (skill) left and I don't see the recube coming in so quickly if things go badly for us. Also there is a possibility that my Fish opponent might wrongly pass this. Even though this is a theoretical pass, fish should take this, and passing would be a huge blunder for fish. All that combined, for me this is a double even vs 400 Elo weaker opp.

Position 2 -
While being theoretical No Redouble, fish should Redouble this for sure against stronger opponent and I would probably take it against regular fish which I face at live tourneys. 400 ELO is really extreme so I am not sure at all what to do. Looks like it should be a pass against such fish but I might take if I thought there was a good chance that my weak opponent would mess up the future checker plays.

Positions 3 and 4 -
These are good example of positions where I fully agree with Fish METs. There isn't much play and skill left in these positions, cube is way too high and the possibility of facing a redouble is quite huge here. Monster No Double against Fish of any kind.
