The situation you describe in item 3. happened to me on gamecolony on PC. It sometime allows illegal moves in what's should be a forced move. I've also seen it allow players to use the smaller dice number when you can use one or the other but not both.

They also use Chess FIDE Elo rating system so you can't play rated matches with guys 100+ points below you since you'll lose 20 rating points on a loss and gain zero on a win...I'm pretty sure Gridgammon uses a slightly different (and more accurate for BG in my opinion) Elo system.

It's still an OK site to play for fun since you can email the game file to yourself and analyze in XG.
