24/15 looks natural to me. You are far behind in the race, so making the 18 doesn't do much good. Making the 5 is very good, but giving up the 8 is bad. I think we want to sit on our anchor, and play a sort hybrid between a prime vs. prime and mutual holding game. We want to make a 4 prime, and we want as many as possible checkers to play with, and we want to keep the midpoint to keep the checkers somewhat connected. After 8/5, remaking the 8 will be difficult. So 24/15, which also leaves less shots.
