The underdog could play it like this. It depends who is playing really. Even though a 100 elo difference is essentially a 100 elo difference there's still a difference if the participants are myself and someone who plays a 6PR or a 6PR playing a 9PR. The latter is obviously less likely to play the response correctly.

Also, I would like more information. There's a big difference if it's 0-0 and a match to 7 compared to 0-0 in a match to 17 on whether or not I would take a cube like this.
