I definitely agree the majority of adjustment comes from proper unproper cube play.
I will not make blunder passes in races. I will only pass small takes. I really try to stay away from the blunders if I can.
You said something similar before and I disagree before and I'll do it again. You aren't making a blunder when you do this, you are making the correct decision. If you plug in the numbers for the actual match equity table against said opponent instead of your working XG MET you will see your take point can sky rocket. This is especially true against opponents who are takers. You have so little recube vig against an inferior opponent who is a taker in races because they should be taking deeply. The last thing you really want to see is a fish taking a racing cube and you muttering to yourself after the match "Well, he took a pass when the race was like this..." It probably wasn't a pass, the cube may have been the question.
I know it's a thin line to try to walk between over doing it. Every decision will depend not only the elo difference between yourself and your opponent but how your opponent plays that elo difference. As has been said before, I'd much rather play an opponent who plays 150 elo worse than me and doesn't cube at all than one that cubes early according to the bot. The position at hand will also make a difference. How easy is it to play out for both sides? It's a real clusterfuck of information you're trying to put together to adjust your bot v. bot technically correct decisions to your You v. Opponent elo adjusted give me the best chance to win decisions. These decisions are more like poker NLHE poker decisions than black and white make the bot choice.
If you adhere to not dropping racing cubes that are technical blunders when put into XG you will be okay on a centered cube. If the cube has reached the recube stage though you're giving up serious equity by taking these things. You greatly increase the stakes in a virtual no skill position where you have more or less taken a dead cube. It's bg suicide.
