Question: Is there a way to combine XG rollouts done separately (with exactly the same settings) into a single file?

There is no way to combine two files into one. Moreover, if two files were done with exactly same settings (that is plys for cube and checker play, seed, search intervals, MET, etc), then the shorter file can be thrown out and longer one used. You cannot average these two files because of overlap. If settings were different you can compute weighted average, of course.
