Well, Jeremy didn't say exactly that. He wrote: "Neil sees deeply: Run at the score; Safe at DMP."

So if you go back to Neil's post you will realize that Neil didn't mention DMP for the gammons but for the recub vig:

"fafafel it is possible that paying off now is best since playing safe involves significant wastage in the race and we may be forced to leave more than 11 shots next roll. by paying now, we also reduce our opp's cube vig since he has little cube value after hitting since we're nearly completely dead when hit and since we lead by more in the race when he misses he less cube value there. i'd play safe at dmp which is cubeless but here I honestly don't know but lacking qf I admit I'd not blot but be unsure about it."

By the way, is it only me that feels posting has been significantly reduced in this forum?
