My guess is that white will not hurry to leave from blue's ace point and will try to attack blue in his home board. Blue might want to hit at the ace to steal white's half roll. If white enters high, then blue can make his board behind white. Blue will not be able to play safe otherwise for the next turns. It does not look like the right time to leave 2 blots and 13/8 strips the midpoint and most likely will leave blots later.
