The G differential between splitting & making the 5pt is approx 5%. When blue opts for the 5pt his G's for are 10% and G's against are 22%. When blue opts for the split-block he wins 8% G's and loses 25% G's. The cube is not a complete wash after a hit/dance exchange. For instance, after a hit/dance when blue makes the 5pt there'll be some life in the position with White's open 4pt. When blue gets away with being hit or manages to enter and anchor (after being hit) he will win some extra games but not that many more that would indicate making the 5pt is a blunder.

I'd estimate a differential of 0.04.
