We don’t need to be in a rush to clear the bar point here. 31 is a below average racing number, and if we assume XG rolls 8 pips, our lead will be 13 pips when we get the dice. Blocking 44 for another turn, at least, seems relatively safe. More importantly, holding the bar point gives us 18 rolls to clear the 10pt safely next turn. If we clear the bar point now, we’ll have only 12.
Of the two points we might make inside, I prefer the 2pt over the 1pt. Making the 2pt allows us to keep a spare on the 4pt. A phantom gap on the 6pt should be less harmful than one on the 4pt.
I don’t like leaving two blots inside. It gives XG the option to run when it rolls a single 5 or 6.
