save games on GG

The root cause of this is because the default save location of GG is to put the save file inside of: C:\Program Files (x86)\GridGammon\SaveGame (64 Bit Windows)
or C:\Program Files\GridGammon\SaveGame (32 bit Windows)
By default all the subdirectories under C:\Program Files have restricted write permissions unless the program is run as administrator (As Robert points out). I recommend that instead of running as Administrator, you create a folder somewhere under My Documents (My Documents\GridGammonMatches for example). Then run GG, select the Options menu/Autosave Settings and change the "Save folder" to point at your new location. Files/Directories under "My Documents" by default have read/write permissions so the files should properly save there.
I also recommend NOT saving as "CBG" format. This is not a well documented/supported format by most bots. TXT is the equivalent of JellyFish MAT files (pretty much universal these days) and SGG is a another format supported by many bots. SGG has the advantage of being able to save text chat along with moves. Disadvantage to SGG is that GG occasionally writes peculiar entries into the game record that can cause some bots to get confused when loading the match. I find the safest choice to be selecting both TXT and SGG or just TXT.
