Trapping here is wrong for a few reasons, one of them being the more than halved gammon value. The other is the vulnerability of your back checker still being back combined with the fact your opponent has a 3pt board still that is capable of turning into a 4pt board. One 'always' traps when the opponent has a 1 or a 2 point board. When they have a 3 point board it depends on other factors. Here are a couple simple examples with a normal gammon value displaying these differences.
