Why to stop at multiples of 1296

If that's a concern, wouldn't you'd meet it just as well by deciding in advance to roll out 1400 trials, or 1200 or 1800 or 1000 or 1297? Contrary to your post heading change, I don't see an argument for stopping at exactly 1296. I only see an argument for not using the "stop when JSD is > X" if X is to small (for an X you haven't defined) and against stopping rollouts too early.
