I totally agree with you BUT I checked it with gnu and found some interesting results, this is why I made the previous post.

GNUBG 3-ply evaluation:

The score (after 0 games) is: gnubg 3, poseidon 4 (match to 7 points)

So when I will have access to my XG I will rollout the position to see what happens. I suspect, however, that doubling here will not be wrong by much. The same feel I have with Pass.
