The moment one utters "I'm going to give you a test", the subjects' motivation to solve the problem goes into overdrive. There are many forms of Cog B that support why subjects perform well in tests. For instance, who is conducting the test/quiz can greatly influence performance.

Exactly!
We often look for shortcuts or heuristics to aid us when there is insufficient information at hand. Do you think some here will be looking for strange plays when a popular player posts a problem?
