Hitting seems premature to me, particularly because there is no beneficial 6 to play after hitting with the 2. Non-hitting plays are not entirely satisfactory, either. It is frustrating that we cannot safely slot any of the open points in our inner board this turn.

Lifting the 8pt would be 100% safe for this turn, but must be wrong. Putting a second dilly builder on the 2pt is anathema. That leaves 16/8. XG can hit the blot we leave behind with any 7, but if he does, at least we will have a direct return from the bar.
