Bob,

I do not like the RULE to stop the clock for finding dice! I like introducing standards to reduce this event - electronic dice, dice towers, taller backgammon board walls, proportion of dice/board wall etc.

The other rule for stopping the clock in order to discuss or against a talkative opponent is in my view contrary to good manners. If he talks IN MY TIME - I summon the director. If he talks in his time I just enjoy the show. The rule should be: talk in your own time. Like a walki talkie:)

Not liking rules does not mean not keeping them.
