It's not hard to imagine some variations where we'll be grateful to have cobbled together a point in his board now that his gammons don't matter, but the strength of our game right now seems to be our board. Breaking a point and hitting has to be worth huge style points if it works but seems a bit desperate in light of our lack of ammunition in the zone to follow up with. He's got some pretty decent sixes no matter what we do so getting the slotted checker on our bar point out of the line of fire doesn't seem like a top priority, although duplicating his aces could have some value.

I'll cheerfully admit that I'm stumped-I've burned lots of sawdust trying to figure this one out. For me it finally comes down to reluctance to simply let him tee off on our straggler tempered with the knowledge that he'd prefer not to put his racing lead at risk doing so if there was a decent alternative. I don't think that there's a constructive way to seize the initiative with this roll, so I'll put myself in the best shape to do so next tine if he doesn't roll one of his escape & cover 6's with 18/13.
