Blue is Player 1XGID=-aa--BCBA---dE-a-c-cb---B-:0:0:1:44:0:0:3:0:10 Blue to play 44 This a very interesting position. Some of the possible moves are:
- 13/9(2), 13/5
- 13/9(2), 7/3(2)
- 13/9(3), 6/2*
- 13/9(2), 5/1*(2)
- 13/9, 13/1*
- 13/9, 7/3(2), 6/2*
- 13/9, 6/2*, 5/1*(2)
- 7/3(2), 5/1*(2)
With only 8 checkers in the zone, and an oppponent who holds his 5pt, launching a full-scale blitz seems iffy. My first decision, then, is to reject the double hit given by play 7 above. Although hitting seems mandatory, perhaps it is not. Most of the opponents 6s are duplicated, so leaving a direct 6 with play 1 might be fine. Unstacking the midpoint, however, is something I do want to do, so I would not make play 8.
Without much confidence, I’ll choose hitting, building and making a new inside point with play 6: 13/9, 7/3(2), 6/2*.
I have completed the Nactation in the subject, but I don’t feel any urge at all to sort out all the possibilities for the eight moves listed above.
