I would also hold the prime hoping for White's position to deteriorate.

As for whether to keep a checker back on the 21pt, I'm not sure it matters much. Even if we have the opportunity to hit another White checker, it's not clear to me that we'd want to. I'd rather that White be forced to bury that checker. Hitting it might let White hold on to three anchors longer. The other possible merit of staying back on the 21pt is that it means that if White rolls an ace and decides to play 5/4 then she must hit us in the process. I think that White would prefer not to hit us because that improves our timing. But again, this doesn't seem like a big deal. I would probably play bar/21* 17/14 but I don't expect there to be a big difference between that and bar/21*/18.
