The Jacobs Paradox is far more interesting

Actually, the 6-2 play was in a chouette in 1976 at the North Club. Greg Defotis was in the Box, Gene Chait was Captain, and Craig Chellstorp was Crew, and they had an 6-1 to play. (I know, it isn't 6-2, but just wait!) The position was 663 vs 111.
"Six off, six to five gets us fourteen ways off, the other way only thirteen," said Craig.
"What number am I famous for?" Said Gene.
Craig looked over at Greg, and figured that the lost equity would be recouped many times over if gene's play worked. So he told Gene to go ahead and leave the 62 bearoff. Naturally Gene rolled a 6-2 next roll, which would have lost if they made the "right" play, and Greg was so steamed at Craig the play paid off big time.
