Because white is so frontloaded, he will have a very hard time defending against a backgame as it is unlikely that he will be able to put together a prime.

Since I'm not too worried about playing a backgame, I don't mind playing aggressively here. If it goes well, then I won't even have to play a backgame.

My play is 8/5*, 13/11, trying hard to build the most valuable point on the board. The biggest downside to this play is that it gives up the midpoint which is not ideal when having more guys back.

The score also suggests that a bold play is ok, assuming it yilds sufficient wining chances. If you cube later, then you will be able to kill white's gammons. As long as blue owns 2 high anchors, I am not too worried that I will lose a G.
