At least, every thing has to go. "Point and spare and blot.." A point is not an asset in itself. It depends. Making the five point creats an uneven number of men on the highest point and two stripped point with two gaps in front of them, against a sniper on ground and one on the roof. Simply playing 8/4 leaves a spare on four, stays even on the highest point and gives white the chance to play in on five, perhaps with a set, insulting the timing.

Grunch.
