Over the board, I would likely play this by pushing up to the 20pt, U = Up [bar/23 21/20]. As long as nothing more useful can be done with my blots, I would rather start an anchor on the 20pt than the 21pt.

Of course, QF suggests that is wrong. So, are we getting wild here, with W = Wild [bar/23 6/5]? Or are we keeping our blots off the point White wants most to slot, his 5pt, by playing V = Variant up [bar/22]?

As far as the Nactation is concerned, there is an error, but it is not 66O. It is Blue’s 32. 32S = Split [24/21 13/11] and 32Z = Reverse split [24/22 13/10]. Z is reserved for those cases where the smaller die is played on the far side of the board.

For White’s 66, O = Outer [13/1*(2)] because of the hit. o = outer [13/7(2) 8/2(2)] ranks second because it does not hit. If hitting were not part of the play, then making the 2pt would outrank making the 1pt, because the 2pt is closer to the 6pt. For instance, 51S-32U-66O = Outer [13/7(2) 8/2(2)].

Another alternative for the 66 in this position is 66P. Just as 55P = Point [13/3(2)] uses all parts of the roll to make a single point (by playing through the 8pt), 66P can be used for 13/1*(2) for the same reason. It uses all parts of the roll to make a single point (in this case, by playing through the bar point).
