Internet Playing Site Wish List

I wasn't joking when I said last year that if I had to create a purely social site that was to attract social players, I think that manipulating the dice to reduce doubles is actually a positive.
Ack! *Choke*
If I could go back in time, I would eliminate the rules that gives extra power when throwing doubles. I think experts on this board would cringe at that idea, because they see it as requiring more skill to play the game. To the casual player no doubles would probably make the game more enjoyable.
This is a reasonable position, but it's too late. We have the game that we have.
Another facet that casual players seem to dislike - the Doubling Cube. You would be surprised how often I play in a socially competitive tournament (Like Gammonzone) to hear the words "It's not fair to use the cube like that". Some casual players believe that each game should be played out one point at a time, to do otherwise is unfair.
Alright, here's the deal: if I can change their minds with a well-reasoned argument, then I'm willing to talk. But, if this "social player" will never be able to be convinced that this is how backgammon is played, then I don't want that social player.
I still can't believe that the SHG site still allows those messed up dice to persist. To me, that's like teaching that we add fractions by just adding numerators and denominators: 2/3 + 5/7 = 7/10, just because it's easier and "more fun" that way.
If SHG wants to play a "variant" of backgammon, and markets it clearly that way, then go for it. But I suspect that's not what they're doing, and that's just wrong. There are people playing in those rooms that think they're playing backgammon.
