Lowest common denominator I believe makes up the majority of players today. Again, that is an opinion, if someone has some statistics to show that is wrong I'd like to see it (seriously). I think experts or anyone who plays on the ABT or any tournament is an exception to the rule, and not the norm.

You can say that about any game. But even the people who play chess and go KNOW what the top guys are playing, even if they're off playing bughouse. Their game is played at a much lower level, but they're playing essentially the same game. The SHG Ridiculo-Dice is not backgammon. Even the people who know the dice are jacked up say they want it that way, and they want their backgammon played with that kool aid mix, and think everybody should be playing that way. That's not good.
