1. Weighing the slim chance of getting a shot on the 4 or 3 point (with considerable chances to get off the gammon, and even win) vs. elevated backgammon danger, I'd reroll.

2. Blue trails 20 gammon-saving crossovers to 14, not on roll, and will need 4 more net working doublets in 6 (or 5) rolls to get off the gammon, so the chance of saving the gammon I'd guess is much less than 1%.
