Mike: In the H (Hit) family, all or part of a roll can be used to make the hit. In case only part of a roll is used to make a hit, the other part must be...
Timothy: When you say that the other part of the move must be a forced move, an entry from the bar, or a down play, what about situations where there may be several legal moves but only one move hits? For instance, we can write 32Z-21H, right?
In the position 32Z-21H, all parts of the roll (i.e, both dice) are used to move the checker that makes the hit. 32Z-21H is correct.
Timothy: Strictly speaking, no part of the move is forced, but there's only one move that hits, so its forced in some vague sense, given that you are looking for a hitting move.
By definition, only those plays that make a single, loose hit can be nactated in the H (Hit) family.
