5-1 to play

In Response To: 5-1 to play (Zabiyaka)

White is ahead in the pip count so we don't just want to blindly bring our checkers around with 15/9. We want to force White's position to deteriorate, either by having her board crunch or having her run off her anchor so that we can attack her resulting blots.

The candidate plays I see are 6/1 2/1 and 9/8 9/4. The idea behind 9/8 9/4 would be to force White to run with a 6 and then attack her blots. It does of course give White a 66 joker, and on top of that our attack might not succeed because we have only a four-point board, three builders for the 3pt, and one outfield guard. 6/1 2/1 leaves a blot in our board but keeps our blockade so that White is more likely to have to crunch. The blot on the 2pt doesn't look like a serious liability since there are a number of ways we can cover it later. 6/1 2/1 looks better.
