Looking at the position again, I see another candidate: 15/14 6/1, which avoids getting hit if White rolls 44, but leaves a blot on the 1pt that is harder to cover, and slightly reduces our outfield coverage by advancing our guard. I don't think this is better than 6/1 2/1, since White's 44 is a joker anyway—in fact, I'm not even sure White should hit, since she'll usually have an efficient cube if she just runs.
