Belated thoughts on Chase's position

Thinking about this position again, I have an idea about how one might arrive at the play bar/21 22/16, using a thought process that should have more general applicability.

The idea is that in a position where the opponent can and will hit with almost any roll, instead of using duplication, look at which numbers don't hit. After bar/15, 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's all hit. (White might not actually hit with every roll but whatever she plays has to be at least as good as a hit.) After bar/21 22/16, "only" 1's, 2's, 3's and 4's hit. This technique at least quickly draws attention to White's potentially bad 5's, which as I mentioned before seems to be a key issue here.
