This is very reminiscent of Neil Kazaross's ironically named easiest contact bearoff ever. See in particular David Rockwell's excellent commentary on that problem.

The worst play must be volunteering a blot with 4/off 4/2(2).

Bearing no checkers at all with 4/2(4) looks bad too since it leaves you odd-ended and takes no checkers off. All your moves will be forced now. This is probably second worst.

Both 4/off 2/off(2) and 2/off(4) risk blotting with 2's, the latter immediately and the former after you clear the 4pt and start trying to clear the 3pt. 2/off(4) looks worse than 4/off 2/off(2) despite ripping off an extra checker.

I play 4/off(2).
