Framming it up at DMP

This is interesting because I know immediately if the roll was 54 I would pay now whereas if it was 52 there is simply no way I'd pay now and I'd break my inner board up. This has to be somewhere in the middle but which way does it lean?
The biggest knock(s) against paying now are 13 shots compared to the minimum of 11 which we'd prefer. (though often correct to leave 13 when desperate enough) The clean up when missed after paying now is as easy as we could hope for. Our opponent's 5 point board is scary enough though if it the 5pt is open with no builders so it isn't game over but we aren't happy to say the least.
Trashing our board, esp. against XG, means that he will spread his checkers out so we can't get home safely and when we leave a shot it will be a double shot + for sure. I'm going to vote with I don't know. One of my pay now v. pay later rules is if you're not sure, pay later. Let's employ that and see how much trouble it gets me in.
