Going against the aphorism 'don't volunteer a shot in a holding game' I'll bring down both from the midpoint. ~2/3rds of the time it wins, fairly quickly, and when hit blue still has a chance to enter and race around.

The alternative is to abandon the 8 (meaning we have no way to play a 6 without volunteering a shot) or playing off the 6 (destroying the board). It seems better to just pay now.
