Legal moves in tournament play

I strongly favor legal moves in tournament play for a variety of reasons. I have debated this with Gregg and a few others who don't like legal moves, and I was not able to convince them, nor were they able to convince me. They make some excellent arguments, but not strong enough, in my opinion, to counter the arguments in favor of legal moves.
When a clock is used and there is one set of dice, I find that I can live with either rule; but when there are two pair of dice, I have serious problems with non-legal moves.
Since I would hate to see a set of rules when there are two sets of dice and another set of rules where there are not, for that reason alone, I strongly advocate legal moves. I will not go into the many other reasons in detail, but there are practical as well as ethical advantages, in my opinion, in playing legal moves, and they make a significant difference to the game in terms of reducing arguments, conflicts, and ethical dilemmas.
