Legal moves in tournament play

I think the question was something other than "are there theoretical concerns with legal moves?"

I respect Gregg's opinion but I find the linked post to be not particularly grounded in reality. It seems particularly wrong to claim that if you fail to notice an illegal move by your opponent, the kibitzers will instantly brand you as a cheater even though you're not. Is a player who makes an illegal move automatically branded as a cheater by the spectators? Of course not. It depends on the circumstances.
