B/18* doesn't accomplish that much and leaves me vulnerable to some unpleasant jokers.
B/16 leaves a strange position where I'm not sure what my game plan is. If I'm going forward, why not advance the anchor now? If I'm staying back, why not hit? If I'm hit, I end up with a split army with little flexibility.
8/4* is okay, but I like holding the 8pt here and I'm not ready to commit to a backgame.
B/20 24/20 seems to address the position. It connects my army, maintains a double anchor so I have the security to put my other checkers where I want them, and keeps open prospects for going backwards or forwards. That's my play.
