Rereading Advanced Backgammon by Robertie

The question is whether it's still worth reading. E.g. there are plenty of old chess books that are worth reading, even though much of the content is wrong or out of date (My System is one). I'll have to take a look and see whether I'd still recommend Advanced BG for beginners or intermediates. I have no hesitation to recommend Magriel (out of date in most ways), or 501, but not sure about Advanced BG anymore; I really haven't picked it up in years. The thing I like least now about that book is Robertie's high confidence in his own judgments. But that's forgivable, especially since it helps sell books.
