In the fifth illustration, the play has got to be 24/18 13/11. Note that White is not a favorite to point on Blue's head and that many point-makers are duplicated to make the 5 or 4 point. Also: With a racing lead, a better board, and a slightly depleted outfield, Blue shouldn't take the big risk of slotting his 5 point but should choose a more flexible and tactical game plan. If things are to be mixed up, they should be mixed up on White's side of the board where Blue stands to gain in the race on return hits.

By the way, if memory serves, Robertie himself, in the early 90s and pre-bot, was replying 62: 24/18 13/11 to 32D, and no doubt he would have made the right play then in this position.
