I've no idea what the dmp play is. I'd have guessed getting out of Dodge with 23/18* 23/17, because White may be making some banana split plays if Blue remains behind on the 23pt. My second hitting choice would be 24/18* 14/8, reducing the blot count in anticipation of getting knocked around.

I'm not sure hitting is right with so many gammons hanging in the air, however. It doesn't put Blue back in the race, and it will be difficult for him to play safe while staging the blocking structure he will need to contain White's rear checkers. White will have many opportunities to hit and scoot home. That doesn't seem like much of a game plan for Blue. Call me a coward, but I'll be patient with 14/3 and hope for something better next time.
