Re the second position: Long, long ago, Kit commonly made super-aggressive slots (even slots into double shots, and such) if his back checkers were solidly anchored and Magriel's criteria called for a bold play. This play seems like an example.

One time in the 80s, I imitated him and made a double unstacking slot against Joe Sylvester, who thought so much of the play that he immediately doubled me. I suspect my slot was wrong, and I also suspect that now I'd view Joe's double as slightly light. At the time I default-respected almost anything Joe did. He was farther ahead of his time than just about anybody.
