Well, I didn't look at this thoroughly, but I'm pretty sure that the 5pt blot is a major factor. It's true that when White hits in her board rather than in the outfield, she simultaneously takes an important step towards closing her board. However, by itself I don't think that this is enough to jack up the gammons that much, because hitting loose in the board is a double-edged sword: it gives Blue return shots from the bar. The fact that Blue has a blot in his own home board makes a big difference because now hitting back from the bar has a big potential downside.

Might be worth seeing what happens if we change the roll to 52.
